A BILL to amend and reenact section thirty-four, article one, chapter seventeen-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to providing for automatic adoption of laws by municipalities of the traffic regulations and laws of the road applicable in chapter seventeen-c of said code; and authorizing the municipalities to add to or delete from these laws according to the local needs.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section thirty-four, article one, chapter seventeen-c of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. WORDS AND PHRASES DEFINED.

§17C-1-34. Local authorities.

"Local authorities" means every county, municipal and other local board or body having authority to enact laws relating to traffic under the constitution and laws of this state.
The traffic regulations and laws of the road contained in this article, as amended from time to time by the Legislature, are automatically a part of municipal codes. Any municipality may add to these laws or delete from them according to the local needs.




NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that the traffic regulations and laws of the road applicable in chapter seventeen-c of the code are automatically part of municipal codes. It authorizes the municipalities to add to or delete from these laws according to the local needs.
